Reading and Writing Curriculum
What is PS 52's reading and writing curriculum?
PS 52 uses HMH Into Reading curriculum to teach reading. Into Reading incorporates the essential elements of literacy (phonics, vocabulary, comprehension skills). PS 52 uses TC writing curriculum. Students learn about writing strategies through mini-lessons and small group support.
How can I support my child at home?
- Have your child read every day. Your child can read out loud to you or read independently, but the important thing is to read! As your child reads, encourage your child to think about what is happening in the story.
- Make sure to encourage your child to log on to Imagine Learning, Get Epic, I-Ready Reading, and Myon.
Math Curriculum
What is PS 52's math curriculum?
PS 52 uses TERC Investigations for grades K, 1, and 2. TERC develops math understanding through hands-on activities and games.
Eureka Squared is used in grades 3, 4, and 5. Eureka Squared is a rigorous math curriculum that uses math models to develop an understanding of math concepts.
How can I support my child at home?
- Practice math fluency facts.
- Make sure to encourage your child to log on to Imagine Math, I-Ready Math, and Zearn.
Science Curriculum
What is PS 52's science curriculum?
Amplify Science is the curriculum used for science. Amplify Science is based on using science knowledge, investigations, models, and research to solve real world problems.
Social Studies Curriculum
What is PS 52's social studies curriculum?
PS 52 uses Passport as the social studies curriculum.
