Physical Education - Mr. Santos & Ms. Novella

My name is Mr. Santos, I have been teaching at PS 52 for several years, I enjoy working with Ms. Novella as a part of the Physical Education program at Sheepshead Bay Elementary school.  I was born and raised in Brooklyn NY.  Before joining the PS 52 family, I was an athletic director and head of department at my previous school. I attended Brooklyn College where I obtained an undergraduate degree in Physical Education. I also obtained master’s degrees in Sports Management and Educational Leadership from Brooklyn College as well. I look forward to a great year working with supporting colleagues and wonderful students. 

My name is Ms. Novella.  I was born and raised in Brooklyn NY.  I now live on Long Island with my husband and two children and dog Lulu.  I have been part of the PS 52 family for more than 27 years.  It has been an absolute pleasure coming to work in such a wonderful school.  I have seen many of your children grow into fine adults and I love having them come back to visit.  Mr. Santos and I will continue to support the PHYS Ed program at PS 52 and make sure the children have fun while learning to be healthy.

Physical Education program description

We provide Physical Education to all of our Pre K - 5th grade students. Students should attend Physical Education class prepared with sneakers and comfortable clothes. Students will participate in a variety of exercises, stretches, dances, sports, and games throughout the year. Our Physical Education department educates each child in health-related fitness as well as maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
